Castle For Rent: Chateau de Lascours House C

House C sleeps 7 people

Lascours is a very small village perched on a hill, surrounded by vineyards and with a view of the Mont Bouquet in the distance. It is 2km outside Cruviers-Lascours, where there is a small shop, a Mairie, a tennis court and a post office. It is approximately 20 kms from Uzès, one of the most picturesque towns in Southern France. Also at a distance of 22 km is the ancient Roman town of Nimes, which contains several well-preserved antiquities (arena, temple and baths) as well as chic shopping in the pedestrian-only old town. The village of Lascours has no shops and very narrow roads, so there is very limited traffic. A bread van delivers daily and a meat van calls once or twice a week. The houses are located right in the heart of the oldest part of the village, annexed to the chateau.

The Chateau de Lascours: House C

The Chateau de Lascours is situated in a park of over 20.000 sq.m. and has been divided in 3 parts which are each completely separated from each other.

The main part, of the chateau, is being occupied by the owner and his family. They are only living there a few weeks in the year.

Each house has their own, separate, entrance and its own garden and only the swimming pool is jointly use.  The swimming pool is large (12.5 m x 7m), and is surrounded by a garden and a spacious terrace of natural stone paving.  Each house has its own separate entrance to the pool.

House C:

There is 170 m². of living area on four levels. It is comfortably furnished and tastefully restored. The tiled floors and thick stone walls ensure coolness in the house during the hot summer.   The 5 outdoor levels/terraces provide plenty of space for private sunbathing, reading or relaxing, and give the house its distinctive character. It combines the advantages of village life (with its entrance right onto the tiny street facing west) and the privacy of a secluded garden (facing south east). The best feature of the house is the roof terrace, which has spectacular views over the valley and vineyards on one side and the tiled roofs of the village on the other. The swimming pool is in the adjoining garden of the Chateau, so at a safe distance for small children.

Houses B & C are available separately or together. House B will accommodate 6 persons and house C will 7. Together they provide a facility for 13 persons. Please click on House B or House C click, if you want their details

Old village stone house C
Enclosed undeveloped natural garden of 2,050 m2, which provides privacy from the small village approach road. There are many trees, so this is a shady place to sit in the summer. Children find it an exciting place to play.

12.5 x 7 m swimming pool, shared with the adjoining property

On the lower level, there is a living room with stone fireplace and TV. There is a phone jack. Comfortably furnished with a couch, two armchairs and a baby grand piano. A windows opens south onto the lower natural garden. There is a separate entrance door onto the lower terrace which has two seating areas and a wisteria-covered trellis. There is a prolific fig tree and shady mulberry tree.
Adjoining the living room is the kitchen with character (stone tile-topped shelves, a large farmhouse double sink and pots and pans hanging from hooks), also with a separate entrance onto the lower terrace. The kitchen is fully equipped with gas stove, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and clothes washer, toaster, electric kettle, MagiMix. There is an antique wooden table and chairs which seat 8.
On the top level there is an office/TV room – fully equipped with large TV, video, stereo (surround sound) and PlayStation. There is a comfortable couch and chairs and office desk/chair with phone jack. Windows open onto the street and gardens below.
A door from the office leads to the roof terrace which has spectacular views over the valley and vineyards on one side and the tiled roofs of the old village on the other. The roof terrace has its own fridge, sink, and barbeque for ‘al fresco’ dining. There is also a good assortment of glasses, plates, cutlery and washing-up equipment. The terrace is half under cover and half open – to accommodate all weathers. Tables and chairs seat as many as 12.
5 bedrooms – 2½ bathrooms:

The bedrooms are north and south of the entrance hall from the street. To the South is a cluster of three bedrooms sharing a bathroom (perfect for children) and to the North, up a level and separated by a few steps is the master bedroom, and small bedroom sharing the master bathroom. Off the entrance hall facing east is a separate toilet with sink.

#1: A large master bedroom (27 m²) with queen-sized bed (separated from the entrance hall by a few stone steps) There is a phone/fax machine and a door leading to the middle terrace.

The ensuite bathroom has an old-fashioned bath and sink, separate shower, and separate toilet and bidet (with sliding door for privacy).
#2: A very small bedroom with single bed (antique metal bed), which shares master bathroom and has its own door onto the middle terrace.
#3: A bedroom with double bed, and a window facing the lower garden below. There is a phone jack. Shares the bathroom with bedrooms 4 and 5. The bathroom has bath with shower, sink and toilet and window facing east.
